DHL announces pick-up,

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- DHL recently announced a pick-up and cut-off time extension for outbound shipments to the U.S., enabling it to offer customers in central and southern Taiwan an additional time of up to 2.5 hours for shipment preparation.

Due to a recent service increase by the world's leading logistics company, in select cities the call-in cut-off time is as late as 7:00 p.m. to arrange same-day pick-up — the latest in Taiwan. The cut-off time will differ in some areas.

Another service enhancement will see DHL offering dedicated customer service assistance on the Taiwan-U.S. trade lane. These enhancements follow last year's introduction of a next-day delivery to the U.S. for all locations serviced by DHL in Taiwan.

The benefits of the service enhancements announced will be channeled to customers across Taiwan. Customers in central and southern Taiwan will have more time to prepare their U.S. bound shipments, while customers in the north already enjoy the industry's latest cut-off time to the U.S., according to Chee Yaw-chek (朱耀杰), Managing Director of DHL Express Taiwan.

"Our dedicated customer service teams coupled with recent system upgrades in our Taipei Gateway and service centers will see DHL improving the efficiency of data transmission and outbound custom clearance," Chee indicated.

DHL boasts a robust capacity for international logistics in the U.S., which connects to the DHL global network via its main Americas Hub in Cincinnati, Ohio to facilitate international trade.

In conjunction with last summer's network enhancements, when DHL linked Taipei with Nagoya, Japan and Incheon, South Korea overnight to provide enterprises and small and medium enterprise customers more service flexibility and greater efficiency, DHL expanded its Cincinnati hub and launched trans-Pacific flights connecting Nagoya and Cincinnati with increased U.S.-bound loading capacities.

The newly expanded hub has a new 180,000-square foot sorting facility specifically designed to accommodate larger express shipments, and further connects to domestic flights in the U.S. as well as to Canada, Mexico and Latin America.

DHL Taiwan said that the extensive network continues to promote DHL's growth in the Pan-Pacific free trade area, allowing Taiwan's export shipments to be delivered next day to major cities in the U.S.
