Gov't approves minimum wage hikes for next year
CNATAIPEI -- Premier Jiang Yi-huah on Tuesday approved a plan to raise the minimum wage beginning in 2014.

The minimum hourly wage will be increased from NT$109 (US$3.6) to NT$115, starting Jan. 1 next year, the Executive Yuan said.
The minimum monthly wage, which is now NT$19,047, will be increased to NT$19,273 beginning on July 1, 2014, it said.
The government predicted that the increases will benefit 310,000 hourly-wage workers and 1.76 million workers paid a monthly wage.
