Taiwan to set up special pavilion at Suzhou electronics exhibition
CNATAIPEI -- Major Taiwanese electronics suppliers will operate a special pavilion at an upcoming electronics exhibition in Suzhou to showcase Taiwan's strength in touch panel related technology, the Taipei Computer Association (TAC) said Friday.

At the 2013 Electronics Manufacturer Exposition China (eMEX) Oct. 16-20, Taiwanese suppliers such as personal computer vendors Acer Inc. and Asustek Computer Inc. will display their new devices at the Taiwan pavilion, the TAC said.
Touch panel supplier TPK Holding Co., touch screen integrated circuit designer Elan Microelectronics Corp., and transparent capacitive stylus pen maker Dagi Corp. will also take part in the annual event, the association said.
Asustek will introduce its touch notebook computers and tablet computers, including the ASUS Vivobook, ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, and its Padfone 2 smartphone, said the TAC, which is a co-organizer of the Suzhou event.
Acer is also planning to focus on a series of newly unveiled computer models such as the Acer Aspire S7 ultrabook and the Acer Aspire P3 tablet, the association said.
Elan, meanwhile, will showcase its new touch solutions for notebook, tablets, smartphones and all-in-one computer use, while Dagi is expected to display 12 different designs in transparent capacitive stylus pens, according to the association.
It said TPK is planning to offer visitors a chance to experience its technology achievements in the area of 70-inch, 32-inch and 22-inch touch panels.
In addition to the special touch technology companies, other Taiwanese high-tech brands, including smartphone vendor HTC Corp., will attend the event in a bid to tap into the fast growing China market, the association said.
Taiwanese LED product manufacturers will also showcase their innovations, it added.
It said a wide range of Chinese enterprises such as telecom operators China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom, PC vendor Lenovo Group, TV makers Konka, TCL, and Shyworth will also be among the exhibitors.
Meanwhile, Japan's consumer electronics suppliers Panasonic, Sharp, Canon and South Korea-based Samsung Electronics will take part in 2013 eMEX, which is now in its 12th year, the association said.
