Visiting official seeks to promote Panama investment opportunities

TAIPEI -- A visiting official from Panama will introduce investment opportunities in the Central American country to Taiwanese businesses at a seminar in Taipei this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.

Diana Salazar Fong, an official from Panama's ministry of commerce and industry, will discuss her country's economy and investment environment, with the aim of boosting engagement with Taiwan in those areas, the ministry said in a statement.

At the seminar on Wednesday, Salazar will also brief the participants on the progress of Panama's negotiations with other countries on free trade agreements, the ministry said.
