Taiwan retains position No. 20 in Legatum Prosperity IndexCNA LONDON -- Taiwan is ranked 20th among 142 countries in the world in this year's Legatum Prosperity Index, the same as last year, according to a report released by British think tank the Legatum Institute yesterday.
October 31, 2012, 12:30 am TWN Taiwan had the fifth highest overall ranking among the 28 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region covered by the 2012 index, trailing only Australia (fourth), New Zealand (fifth), Hong Kong (18th) and Singapore (19th). Norway was the top ranked country in the index for the third year in a row, followed by Denmark and Sweden. Rounding out the top 10 were Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland. |
