Moody's maintains currency sovereign ratings for Taiwan

HONG KONG -- Taiwan has maintained Aa3 foreign and local currency sovereign ratings and a stable outlook, according to an assessment report released yesterday by Moody's Investors Service.

Taiwan has maintained the same sovereign ratings since 1998, which indicates that it is a favorable investment destination.

The latest Moody's report said Taiwan was again granted the Aa3 ratings primarily because of its high economic resilience, high degree of institutional and government financial strength, and moderate-to-low susceptibility to risk from financial, economic and political events.
