Taiwan-France forum on electric car sector begins

TAIPEI -- A Taiwan-France forum on the electric vehicle sector opened in Taipei yesterday, attracting hundreds of experts and industry representatives from the two countries.

The Taiwan-France Automotive Industry Cluster Exchange Seminar is focusing this year on future trends in electric vehicle technology and how businesses can benefit from those trends globally, the organizers said.

Taiwan has accumulated many strengths in the information and communication technology industry, and now it also aims to be a major player in green technology, said Jet Shu, an adviser to the industrial technology department under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, one of the organizers.

Chinese LFTR Thorium reactors almost guarantee a world wide move away from oil and coal. Expect Electric cars out of Asia to reign supreme even in the U.S.A. and Chinese electric bullet trains to take over where very expensive oil intensive jet flights dominate today.
Question is: Faster Thorium fueled ships once realized will replace transcontinental flights? Comfort factor alone dictates a large customer base, as telecommunications improvements make actual physical visits less imperative.
