US dollar gains NT$0.005 to finish trading at NT$29.986

TAIPEI -- The U.S. dollar rose against the New Taiwan dollar yesterday, gaining NT$0.005 to close at NT$29.986.

Turnover totaled about US$591 million during the trading session.

The U.S. unit opened at the day's high of NT$29.990, off a low of NT$29.840 before the close.
