China agrees to lend Zimbabwe US$585 mil. for health, farming

HARARE -- Zimbabwe and China have signed an agreement under which China will lend Zimbabwe US$585 million for the health and agriculture sectors, Zimbabwe's Vice President Joice Mujuru said on Monday.

Mujuru said the loann would be used for “priority areas such as agriculture, machinery and equipment, which is worth US$342 million, health US$99.5 million and local authorities US$144 million.”
