Taiwan’s new TUV lab to test food safety

The TUV Rheinland Group, one of the world’s leading testing and certification services providers, recently set up a laboratory in southern Taiwan in the interest of food safety.

The lab, TUV Rheinland AIMEX Ltd., began operations after an opening ceremony held on May 7 at the facility’s location in Pingtung.

The laboratory was established as part of TUV Rheinland’s continued effort to provide impartial, third-party testing services to ensure the safety of food products.

“Food has always been the most important necessity for peoples’ livelihood. Today, people not only want food that tastes good, they want safe food as well,” TUV Rheinland said.

“However, with fake or contaminated foods turning up all the time, consumers often feel helpless when it comes to buying safe food,” it added. “In order to build consumer confidence and put an end to their fears, it is important to establish a reasonable food-testing standard to ensure its safety.”

TUV Rheinland AIMEX has retained many well-known and experienced experts in Taiwan as technical consultants to advise its professional and methodical laboratory staff. Services offered by TUV Rheinland AIMEX include food safety testing, farmland management certification, factory quality control, R&D and health management.

Professional analysis and testing can be provided for food ingredients, heavy metals, drug residue, pesticides, toxins and microorganisms. Customized testing solutions can also be devised to meet customer’s special requirements.

TUV Rheinland AIMEX is located in Pingtung’s Neipu Industrial Park and is the 11th accredited laboratory established by the TUV Rheinland Group in Taiwan.

“By combining German precision with Taiwan’s professional expertise, we aim to make a difference in food safety,” TUV Rheinland said.
