Vietnam arrests, extradites Finnish murder suspect

HANOI -- Vietnamese police have arrested and extradited a Finnish man suspected of murdering his wife, a police official in the Southeast Asian country said on Tuesday. The man, identified as Paul Niklos Bernhard Gagneur, 44, was arrested in a park in the southern hub of Ho Chi Minh City on Monday on the request of Interpol Finland, the official said. “We are told that he killed his wife in their house in Finland in March,” an officer from Interpol Vietnam, who asked not to be named, told AFP.

The suspect left Finland last month and entered Vietnam through Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the police-run newspaper Cong An Nhan Dan reported.
