Thai PM warns public of festival bomb risk

BANGKOK -- Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat issued a bomb warning Tuesday to revellers at a full moon festival amid ongoing violence at an anti-government rally site.

Somchai told the public to avoid large gatherings during Wednesday’s Loy Krathong, a colorful festival of floating water lanterns celebrated throughout Thailand. Three small bombs have detonated in recent days in the grounds of the prime minister’s offices, where protesters have been camped out since August demanding the government step down.
