Singapore warns swine flu likely to spread

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Health Ministry says the risk of swine flu spreading in the city-state has increased because some people went shopping or to work after arriving from abroad with the virus.

A ministry statement confirmed two more cases Wednesday. That brings Singapore's total to 49.

The ministry says all but one person was infected abroad, with 25 coming from Australia and 16 from the U.S.

The ministry says 27 patients are still hospitalized in stable condition.
