Jockey kicked from SIA Cup after positive test

SINGAPORE -- French jockey Olivier Doleuze has tested positive for a banned substance and will miss the US$2.2 million Singapore Airlines International Cup on Sunday. Doleuze, who had been due to ride fancied French challenger Balius in the city-state's biggest race of the year, provided a urine sample that contained a prohibited substance after a race meeting at Happy Valley on Wednesday, the Hong Kong Jockey Club said. "The racing stewards have exercised the powers they have .... and have decided to stand jockey Doleuze down from riding until an inquiry into the regularity has been determined," it said in a statement.
