Speeding truck kills 14, hurts 20 in NW Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- At least 14 people were killed and 20 others injured when a speeding freight t

ruck overturned after colliding with other vehicles in northwestern Pakistan on Friday, officials said. The accident occurred in Pabbi, a town 30 kilometers east of Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province. The 16-wheeler vehicle was carrying sugar from the southern port city of Karachi to the northwestern city of Nowshera.

"Fourteen people were killed and 20 others injured in the accident," provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said.
