Six killed in Bangladesh flash flood

DHAKA, Bangladesh -- Six members of a family were killed Saturday after a flash flood washed away their mud hut in northeastern Bangladesh, police said.

Overnight monsoon rains inundated parts of hilly Habiganj district, 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of the capital, Dhaka, local police officer Mohammad Shahajahan said.

Two street vendors and their four children, aged two to 12, were killed when their hillside hut collapsed early Saturday in surge of flood water, the officer said.
