The ministry plans to hire about 500 people to teach after-school classes in rural establishments that lack English instruction from native speakers. The teachers will be paid about 1.9 million won (US$1,920; euro1,213) per month. New President Lee Myung-bak has pledged to strengthen English education at public schools.
