Japan to send emergency rice relief to Philippines

TOKYO -- Japan plans to send 200,000 tons of rice from its stockpile of imported rice as emergency exports to the Philippines, Kyodo News agency reported Monday. The Philippines -- the world's top rice importer -- has been struggling to secure sufficient rice supplies in the face of soaring commodity prices.
