Client, two workers die in Japan brothel fire

TOKYO -- A male client and two female workers at a brothel died Monday in a late-night fire in one of Japan’s biggest red light districts, police said. The fire was reported to emergency workers shortly after midnight at the Edojo club — named after Tokyo’s main castle in the samurai era — in the Susukino district of the northern city of Sapporo, police said.

The man in his 30s and two female workers in their 20s were confirmed dead after firefighters found them in a small room on the top floor of the four-story building, decorated with castle-like roof tiles.
