The epicentre of the quake, which hit 68 kilometers deep and struck at 5:29 p.m. (1029 GMT), was 112 kilometres southwest of provincial capital Banda Aceh, the Meteorological and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said. “For the time being, there have been no measurements of raised water levels,” BMG official Rudi told AFP.

No reports of damage have been received by the agency, he added.
