Plane bursts into flames after Indonesia landing

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- A Hercules cargo plane delivering food and diesel oil to Indonesia’s remote province of Papua burst into flames after touching down early Thursday, but all eight passengers and crew escaped unharmed, a media report said. It was not clear what caused the accident at the Wamena airport, local police chief Marolop Manik told the state-run Antara news agency .

The three crew and five passengers on the flight, operated by PT Manunggal Air, were unhurt after climbing through the emergency exit to escape the inferno, he said.
