September 11, 2012, 12:03 am TWN The slender loris was discovered Sunday as the suspect, detained with two co-travelers, had arrived from Bangkok and was transferring to a flight to Dubai, the Hindustan Times newspaper reported. The slender loris is a slow-moving primate found in India and South-East Asia, which usually grows to around 20 centimeters and 200 grams. Another loris was found abandoned in a dustbin at the airport. Both monkeys were sent to a veterinary hospital, where their condition was said to be serious, the report said. Customs police and wildlife officials were trying to find out where the group had got the monkeys. On Thursday, an Indian man was caught at Mumbai airport with 10 turtles in his underwear, which he was trying to smuggle into the city from Bangkok, media reports said. |
