Rockslide kills seven people in central Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam -- A rockslide has killed seven people and seriously injured another in central Vietnam, police said Friday. The bodies of seven workers, including six women, were pulled from the rubble Thursday night in Thach Ha District in Ha Tinh province, said district police officer Nguyen Minh.

The workers were loading stone onto a truck earlier in the day when the rockslide occurred, Minh said. The accident injured another female worker, who remained in serious condition in a hospital Friday, he said. No rain had fallen in the region recently and authorities are investigating the cause of the slide, Minh said.
