Taiwanese musicians draw big audience at UK festival

TAIPEI -- Taiwanese bands performed for the first time at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom late last month, attracting large crowds, Taiwan's Ministry of Culture said Wednesday.

Electronic pop trio The Girl and The Robots, electro-rock band Go Chic, and Joanna Wang & The Weird Uncles took to the stage at the festival in Pilton on June 26 and 27.

Their performances, which were on one of the festival's smaller stages for global acts and the best new British and European live acts and DJs, was attended by thousands of people, according to the ministry.
