US' Jason Mraz in Taiwan for Golden Melody show

TAIPEI -- American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz arrived in Taiwan Thursday for a performance at the 25th Golden Melody Awards ceremony in Taipei scheduled for June 28.

“I'm very glad to be here,” the 37-year-old Grammy-winning artist, dressed casually in a black T-shirt, cap and jeans, told reporters at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, speaking in Mandarin Chinese.

Mraz, who is visiting Taiwan for the fourth time, is scheduled to perform at the Golden Melody Awards, along with Los Angeles-based eclectic folk-rock band Raining Jane and Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin.

Among Mraz's hit songs are “I'm Yours,” “I Won't Give Up” and “Lucky.” The singer is scheduled to stay in Taiwan for five days.
