South Korean band Exo to perform in Taipei in July

TAIPEI -- South Korean-Chinese band Exo will hold their first ever concerts in Taiwan in July, with tickets to the two shows already sold out, organizers said Tuesday.

The “Exo from Exo Planet #1 — The Lost Planet in Taipei” concerts will take place July 11 and 12 at Taipei Arena, according to Super Dome, the promoter of the events in Taiwan.

The roughly 20,000 tickets available for the two concerts were sold out within 30 minutes after going on sale Sunday morning. Ticket prices range from NT$800 (US$26) to NT$5,800.

Meanwhile, Exo's second mini-album “Overdose” will be released in Taipei on Wednesday.

Formed in 2011, the South Korea-based group consists of members from South Korea and China and has released albums in both Korean and Chinese.

The band's debut studio album “XOXO” became South Korea's best-selling album in more than a decade with over a million copies sold.
