'Life of Pi' bags 6 awards from Las Vegas film criticsCNA LOS ANGELES -- Oscar-winning Taiwanese director AngLee's latest 3-D drama “Life of Pi” has won six awards from the Las Vegas Film Critics Society for 2012, including best picture and best director.
December 14, 2012, 12:08 am TWN The movie also walked away with best cinematography, best visual effects, best score and best youth in film, the society said Wednesday. In addition, “Life of Pi” ranked No. 1 among the society's Top 10 Films of 2012. Since its release in late November, the movie has been performing well at the box office, ranking fifth and raising over US$60 million in North America, behind “Skyfall,” “Rise of the Guardians,” “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2” and “Lincoln.” Globally, “Life of Pi” has raked in more than US$120 million at the box office as of Dec. 9.
