Taiwanese-American gets 2nd spot in Miss America
CNALOS ANGELES -- Taiwanese-American pageant veteran Crystal Lee missed the title of 2014 Miss America but managed to land first runner up in the state of New Jersey on Sunday.

The 22-year-old Miss California lost to the 24-year-old Miss New York, Nina Davuluri, at the contest in Atlantic City.
Lee, whose pageant platform was women in science and math, may not have won the contest, but she was awarded a scholarship to encourage her interest in math and engineering.
Lee is a graduate of Stanford University, with a bachelor's in Human Biology and a master's in Communication.
A San Francisco native, she was named Miss San Francisco's Outstanding Teen in 2007 and Miss California's Outstanding Teen in 2008 before being crowned Miss Chinatown USA in 2010.
