Over 100 bikers to join 'Grandriders' in the US

TAIPEI--Over 100 motorcyclists will accompany a group of elderly Taiwanese bikers, known as the Grandriders, on a ride along the California coast in the United States in August, according to the organizers.

The Grandriders will travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco over four days, with stops in Santa Barbara, Monterey/Carmel and San Jose, said Peter Starr, who led a group of elderly American motorcyclists on a similar ride around Taiwan last October.

Along the way, there will be civic receptions and two showings of a Taiwanese documentary featuring a cross-country motorcycle brigade of local octogenarians, Starr told CNA recently.
