Five-star beef noodles

Beef noodle soup (牛肉麵), pronounced "Niu Rou Mian" in Chinese, is the pride and joy of Taiwan's culinary culture. An indication that that the country is absolutely obsessed with deliciousness is that the popular dish not only appears at various eateries around the island but also at five-star properties of the FIH Regent Group (晶華國際酒店集團). The latter recently started a "Beef Noodle Festival" (晶華牛肉麵節) ahead of Taipei's annual food celebration.

From now on, you can savor mouth-watering beef noodles made with delicious Taiwanese and U.S. beef at three top Chinese restaurants, including Azie, located on the first floor of Regent Taipei (台北晶華酒店), the Silk Palace (故宮晶華), located within the National Palace Museum (國立故宮博物院), and the Taiwanese Cuisine and Snacks, located in Taoyuan International Airport's (臺灣桃園國際機場) terminal 2.

Among the seven items on the menu, the Beef Noodle Soup with Mushrooms (臺灣野菇牛肉麵) requires full attention. Thanks to chef Roger Liu's training in western cuisine, the popular dish was given a French twist with locally-grown mushrooms sautéed in butter complemented with clear broth. The dish provides a healthy eating option for lunch or dinner.

Also, Sous-vide Beef Noodle Soup (東坡牛肉乾拌麵) successfully fuses the ultimate taste of East and West into a creative dish that features two different beef flavors — Taiwan and the U.S.

To further fine-tune your meal, you can select of variety of traditional noodles — thin, medium or thick, as well as the famous konjac noodles for a lower calorie option. Beef noodle soup begins at NT$420 each (plus a 10-percent service charge). ■
