Jay Chou ranked among the most influential in Asia: CNNIn the list “Who Matter Most in Asia 2009,” Chou was dubbed the “entertainer extraordinaire” by CNNGo, a smaller branch of CNN which compiles the guides of currently six Asian cities (Bangkok, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo). CNNGo pointed out that Chou topped Taiwan's music industry money list with his NT$554 million income this year while mentioning his Hollywood ambition to play Kato in the upcoming blockbuster “The Green Hornet,” which stars Nicholas Cage and Cameron Diaz. Chou was among Asian stars, athletes, politicians and businesspeople who made headlines the past year. Hong Kong singer Andy Lau admitted his secret marriage months earlier. New York Yankees slugger and World Series MVP Hideki Matsui, and Ratan Tata, chairman of the maker of the world's cheapest car Nano, were also in the news. Also on the list are China personalities Bo Xilai, the corruption fighting governor of Chongqing; Zhou Libo, the most sought-after stand-up comedian in the country and the “women with guns,” a cadre of female soldiers who participated in the PRC 60th National Day parade in pink uniforms and boots. | |||||||||||||
