Tenor Nuzzo arrested on drug allegation: report

TOKYO -- Japanese police have arrested American opera singer John Ken Nuzzo on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs, reports said Monday.

The 42-year-old Tokyo-born tenor was arrested last week in the Japanese capital for allegedly carrying about 0.7 grams of amphetamines, Kyodo News said. He has admitted to the accusation, Jiji Press reported.

Nuzzo, born to an Italian-American father and a Japanese mother, has performed mainly in Tokyo, New York and Vienna. Police said they could not immediately confirm the report.
