Updated Wednesday, January 20, 2010 10:35 am TWN, By Vivian Chen, The China Post news staff 2010 Taipei International Book Exhibition will begin on Jan. 27This year's book exhibition, from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1, highlights France publications at exhibition Hall 1 in Taipei World Trade Center. The French pavilion will include the unique display from the Bibliotheque Nationale de France (法國國家圖書館) presenting 60 original hand-written works from prominent literary figures. Participants from 58 countries and with a total of 18 international pavilions marked the largest number of participating countries compared to previous book exhibitions. In addition, since this year is marked as an exploding era of digital publications, the book exhibition organizes a new digital publication experience booth to introduce the latest digital editing process and electronic reading devices, such as a handheld reading device to read the latest Chinese version of Dan Brown's novel “The Lost Symbol.” Illustrated and cartoon books shown in Hall 2 will also feature events like autograph signing session of well-known Japanese cartoonist and illustrators, such as Obana Miho (小花美穗) for her popular cartoon, Kodomo No Omocha (玩偶遊戲) and performance from popular Mainland China's Cosplay group.
