The auction house said eight other manuscripts that Breton gave to Collinet would also be sold on Wednesday. Breton, who died in September 1966 at age 70, is regarded as the founder of surrealism, which he defined in the "Surrealist Manifesto" as "psychic automatism in its pure state."
