Updated Monday, September 24, 2007 0:00 am TWN, AFP Spanish film director Saura gets honorary award at festSaura, 75, received the honorary Concha de Oro, or Golden Sell, late on Friday before the screening at the festival of his latest film “Fados” about the melancholy national music of Portugal by the same name. Surrealist Spanish filmmaker Luis Bunuel is the only other person to receive the award in the history of the festival. He was awarded his honorary Golden Shell in 1981, two years before his death at the age of 83. “I hope this movie will launch fado in the world,” said Saura as he presented his film at the festival which got underway on Thursday. “Fados” completes his trilogy on modern urban song which includes the 1995 film “Flamenco” and “Tango” which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998.
